Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you—guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us. – 2 Timothy 1:13-14 (NIV) Paul confidently tells Timothy to follow his teaching, but notice what he adds: faith and love in Christ Jesus. Doctrine without faith in God is only a philosophy that requires no action, and teaching without love can create a false sense of superiority. Finding a balance that is fruitful would be overwhelming except for the fact that we are not left alone to do it; the Holy Spirit is here to guide us every step of the way. --
